Nutri Transformations
FAQS
The Nutri Skinny Shot is NutriCuerpo's medically supervised weight-loss program that uses a prescription medication given as a small weekly injection. It is only prescribed after a medical evaluation, and it is combined with nutrition guidance and follow-up visits.
The medication mimics a natural hormone that your gut releases after eating. It helps you feel full sooner and stay full longer, and it reduces appetite. It works in three main ways:
• Brain: it acts on the areas that regulate appetite, so you may feel less hungry and have fewer food cravings.
• Stomach: it slows how quickly food leaves your stomach, which helps you feel satisfied with smaller portions.
• Pancreas: it helps the body release insulin when blood sugar is high, which supports blood-sugar control.
Adults 18 and older who, after a medical evaluation, are determined to be good candidates by a NutriCuerpo provider. Medical weight-loss treatment is generally considered for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes or high cholesterol. Not everyone qualifies, and the final decision is always made by the provider.
You may not be a candidate if you:
• have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
• are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy
• have a history of pancreatitis
• have type 1 diabetes
• have severe stomach or digestive conditions, such as gastroparesis
• have had a serious allergic reaction to this type of medicationYour provider will review your full medical history before approving treatment.
You start with a consultation and medical evaluation. The provider reviews your health history, current medications and, when appropriate, lab work or other clinical information. If you are a candidate, the provider creates an individualized plan with your starting dose, nutrition guidance and a follow-up schedule. Treatment does not begin without medical authorization.
Possibly, after an individual medical evaluation. The medication can help lower blood sugar, so people with diabetes need closer monitoring, and their diabetes medications may need to be adjusted. Any change to your diabetes treatment must be made by your prescribing doctor. We recommend keeping your primary care doctor or endocrinologist informed.
Ask your provider first. Some pre-workouts contain high doses of caffeine or other stimulants that can worsen nausea, raise your heart rate or affect hydration. Your provider can tell you which supplements are appropriate during treatment.
It is a small subcutaneous injection (just under the skin) given with a very fine needle in the abdomen, thigh or upper arm. Our team will show you how to do it correctly.
Results vary from person to person. They depend on your starting weight, health history, dose, nutrition, physical activity and how consistently you follow the plan. Individual results are not guaranteed.
You must be at least 18 years old.
Tell your provider about every medication, supplement and vitamin you take before you start. Some medications need special attention. Never stop or change a prescribed medication on your own. Any change should be coordinated with the doctor who prescribed it.
